What is EIP (Early Intervention Program)?

Third Graders at Stonewall Tell Elementary School are becoming independent learners.  No longer are they learning to read, but they are reading to learn.  Students have to know how to read for information when it comes to reading Science and Social Studies text, in addition to reading and solving word problems in Mathematics.

The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to support students that need additional practice with prerequisite skills to be successful in third grade.  The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. The Early Intervention Program provides additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time. We will focus on the following skills in the subjects of Reading and Mathematics.
